19mm Packer for Aluminium Extreme Weather Pet Doors
This 19mm frame packer is designed to help install compatible aluminium Extreme Weather triple-flap pet doors into thinner uPVC door panels.
It is particularly useful where the uPVC panel is thinner than the surrounding door frame or mid-rail. The packer increases the installation depth and moves the pet door frame forward so that the slide-in closing panel can clear the uPVC door mid-rail.
Important – Fit the Packer Internally
The packer should be fitted to the internal face of the uPVC door.
This positions the inside of the Extreme Weather Pet Door further away from the uPVC panel and helps provide the clearance needed for the slide-in closing panel to pass over the door's mid-rail.
Suitable for Thin uPVC Door Panels
Each packer adds approximately 19mm to the installation depth.
- 20mm panel + 19mm packer: approximately 39mm total depth
- 24mm panel + 19mm packer: approximately 43mm total depth
- 28mm panel + 19mm packer: approximately 47mm total depth
Why Is a Packer Needed?
Many uPVC doors have a relatively thin infill panel surrounded by a much thicker frame and horizontal mid-rail.
When an Extreme Weather Pet Door is fitted directly into the thin panel, the internal slide-in closing panel may hit the surrounding mid-rail and prevent the panel from being inserted or removed correctly.
The 19mm packer brings the internal pet door frame forward to provide additional clearance.

Panels Less Than 18mm Thick
If the panel you are installing the pet door into is less than approximately 18mm thick, you will normally need to use two 19mm packers.

These packers are only suitable for compatible aluminium Extreme Weather Pet Doors.
They are not universal pet door adapters and should not be assumed to fit other PetSafe, Staywell or other pet door ranges.
Check the Overall Size
Please be aware that fitting the packer increases the overall external dimensions of the pet door frame.
Check that there is sufficient space around the proposed pet door position before cutting your uPVC panel.
Fixing Bolts
The required fixing length depends on the thickness of your uPVC panel and the number of packers used.
Because door and panel thicknesses vary, you will need to obtain suitable M8 bolts of the correct length for your particular installation.
